Blairgowrie
Blairgowrie, the largest town in Perthshire, is a fantastic location in its own right with good shops, restaurants, pubs and a range of leisure activities, and is also an excellent base from which to explore much of what Scotland has to offer.   This market town is within one and -a-half hours by car of all of Scotland's cities with Dundee and Perth less than half an hour away.  
Dunkeld
(11 miles from the Old Coach House) – a beautiful small town on the banks of the Tay with its Cathedral, the earliest part of which dates back to the late 1200s, and a host of houses of historic interest including one visited by Robert Burns. Across the river, over the bridge built by Thomas Telford opened in 1809, one can find the Birnam Oak, over 500 years old and a survivor of the wood described by Shakespeare in Macbeth.
Perth
We are 16 miles from Perth, which has excellent direct rail links to all Scottish cities and some direct train services to London Kings Cross.  Perth is known as "The Fair City" with a gorgeous riverfront on to the Tay and is a charming place to wander round with a good array of independent shops and places to eat and drink.  In addition there is an excellent independent cinema, a museum and a theatre and a concert hall which attracts popular bands and comedians.  Perth is also the home of SPL team St Johnstone.
Dundee
20 miles from The Old Coach House, "Dynamic" Dundee has just been named by Lonely Planet as sixth in its list of top ten European destinations for 2018 following similar praise from Bloomberg, GQ and The Wall Street Journal .  With the recently opened V&A Museum and existing attractions including the RRS Discovery, the spiritual home of "Oor Wullie" and "The Broons" is well worth a visit.  Dundee is also only a few miles from Carnoustie, the home of the 2018 Open Champtionship
Pitlochry
Pitlochry, 24 miles away, is a charming Highland town.  The  town’s biggest attraction is the Dam and Fish Ladder which has a new visitor centre.   There are two distilleries in the town, including the smallest whisky distillery in Scotland, as well as the popular Festival Theatre.  Not too far away is  the superb House of Bruar which offers both a spot of retail therapy and/or lunch.   Blair Atholl Castle is also nearby.   All year round, Pitlochry is an excellent base for local walks and, in the Autumn, Pitlochry hosts an extremely popular "Enchanted Forest" attraction.
Crieff
(31 miles] Crieff is a largely Victorian town with a bustling town centre and has built a reputation for fine food with an excellent choice of cafes, coffee shops, delis and fine restaurants both in and close to the town.  Crieff's attractions include The Caithness Glass Visitor Centre, The Famous Grouse Experience at the Glenturret Distillery and the superb Crieff Hydro and Spa for anyone who fancies a day of being pampered.

Aberfeldy
 Aberfeldy is a small market town 31 miles from The Old Coach House.  The edge of the town sits on the River Tay and is well-known for Wade’s Bridge built in 1733 as well as being the setting for Robert Burns’ poem "The Birks o'Aberfeldy" which is based on an area which is now a well know walk featuring a statue of Burns enjoying the view.    The town has an assortment of independent shops including a good book and gift shop, as well as cafes, restaurants and pubs and the independent Birks Cinema.  The striking National Trust for Scotland property Menzies Castle is nearby. 

Edinburgh
What can we say about Edinburgh in one short paragraph?  It's a beautiful place with so much going on.  We are 60 miles from Edinburgh City Centre and 57 miles from Edinburgh Airport – approximately a drive of 1 hour 15 minutes to each.    Edinburgh has so much to offer all year round and we will be delighted to make some personal recommendations though that will only scratch the surface of what this place has to offer. 
Aberdeen
73 miles away by car, the "Granite City" is home to an excellent maritime museum and stunning Cathedral with all the leisure and refreshment choices one could expect from a city.  
Glasgow
We are 73 miles from Scotland's biggest city's centre and 81 miles from Glasgow Airport – around 1 hour 30 minutes by car.   Winning our daughters' vote for the best shopping in Scotland, with fantastic museums, galleries and superb Victorian architecture, Glasgow is well worth a visit or two during any visit to Scotland.
